2012 was a wonderful year. There were many great things that
happened in 2012. Many of them were good and some of them not so good. Also
many amusing things happened in 2012, such as the Mayan prediction of world
coming to an end on December 21, which kept the world chatting and engaged. When
we do pluses and minuses for 2012, it was a great year in the end and we hope
that the world will be a better place in 2013.
The greatest thing that happened in 2012 was the continuous awakening
of youth in different parts of the world including India. The Indian youth is
now more involved and caring about what is happening in the country. The same
thing is applicable for Malaysia. The Malaysian youth is more aware of what is
happening in the country and is playing a key role in shaping its future. For
the world politics, Obama got another term. Many people were concerned about the
divisive politics of Republicans and are relived that finally the right man
won. Now many people are looking forward to Hillary as the next potential
president. In South Korea, a woman became president for the first time. This is
a big change in the East Asian country. Many similar and positive things are
happening in different parts of the world even in the gloom of on-going
recession.
One of the saddest things that happened in 2012 is the never
ending recession and economic problems in Europe. Another sad thing that
happened is the coming to an end of Sachin Tendulkar’s career. The legend of
cricket is now at the end of an illustrious career. The only thing that is now
left is test cricket which is also just a matter of time. The killing of people
by gunmen in USA and lack of safety of women in India have been some of the
worst things of 2012. Another sad thing that happened in 2012 was sentencing of
Rajat Gupta, the ex-managing director of McKinsey. He has been an idol for many
people in India.
The whole family of Khatore Pharmaceuticals (the makers of
Kamalahar, the ayurvedic product for treatment of hepatitis and treatment of fatty liver) wishes everyone a happy new year.
